After eight years of Horizon Power Catamarans Owner’s Rendezvous, the only way to enhance this epic annual event was to extend its duration. This year, the Horizon Powercat family gathered in the Abaco Islands in the northern Bahamas for six days, forging new connections and creating lasting memories.
Twelve Horizon power catamarans (PCs) and 75 owners and guests relished the nearly week-long celebrations, delectable cuisine, and the lighthearted camaraderie that characterizes this annual event amidst the scenic anchorages and marinas of the Abacos.
On Day 1, once all 12 PCs were docked at Hope Town Inn & Marina, the welcome dinner party awaited, with everyone dressed in their finest island attire. The evening was filled with laughter and smiles, culminating in a lively night of dancing to a local band on the sandy dance floor.

Day 2 coincided with Cinco de Mayo, prompting a festive celebration. The day kicked off with a refreshing Richie’s Ritas margarita class. After preparing coolers and dinghies, guests headed to the Abaco Inn for a scenic lunch featuring Mexican-style food and drinks, enjoying the Atlantic waves crashing on the white sands below. The day ended with relaxation on the beautiful sandbars of Tahiti Beach.
Day 3 began with a competitive charity cornhole tournament around the resort-style pool at Hope Town Inn & Marina. The PC60 Synergy earned bragging rights for winning the tournament. Following this, everyone prepped for the infamous Pimp Your Ride competition. Creativity abounded with themes like Despicable Me, Star Wars, and El Día de los Muertos.
The PC60 High Option won Most Creative, the PC68 Omakase claimed Funniest, and the PC60s Brokedown Palace and Oasis jointly won Most Unique. After shedding costumes and face paint, everyone reconvened on the dock for the signature Rendezvous potluck dinner, featuring fresh stone crab and South African sausages.
Day 4 saw the highly anticipated Raft Up. Leaving Hope Town Inn & Marina, the fleet tied up together off the beautiful beaches of Tilloo Cay National Reserve. Once all 12 PCs were skillfully rafted together, the Captain’s Cocktail Competition commenced. The PC60 Fruition won Best Presentation, while the PC60s Brokedown Palace and Kairos jointly won Best Taste.
Day 5 was dedicated to relaxation, with lunch at the renowned Pete’s Pub. The gathering at this iconic bar and grill on Little Harbor was an ideal setting for winning prizes and raising funds for the Hope Town Primary School.
Day 6 started early with the annual fishing competition. Excitement buzzed over the radios as fish were caught by eager powercats. The competition ended with the PC60 Brokedown Palace landing their first-ever white marlin, claiming the Longest Fish trophy.
The PC60 Synergy edged out the PC52 My Best Life by one pound to win the Heaviest Fish trophy. The final night was a stylish affair, with a dinner at the private island of Johnny’s Cay, accompanied by live music and dancing in the sand, against the stunning backdrop of Hope Town.
The 2024 Horizon Power Catamarans Owner’s Rendezvous was another fun-filled gathering for both longtime and first-time Horizon Powercat owners, offering a perfect blend of relaxation, competition, and camaraderie.
