The emergency services informed nearby ships of the crash and immediately sent a rescue ship and helicopter to the scene.
The rescue team found two crew members with the stranded speedboat who were both unharmed.
As a result, officials cancelled the rescue chopper.
The two crew members said they wished to remain with the stricken vessel and not be transferred to Ibiza.
They added that they had already contacted a private company to remove the vessel.
As a result, the area was cordoned off to prevent curious visitors from approaching the damaged speedboat.
The Formentera government gave the ship’s owner 48 hours to remove all possible contaminants from the vessel, including fuel and power batteries.
They also gave the owner 72 hours to fully remove the wreckage from the islet, as reported by Luxury Boat News.
The crash happened at around 10.30pm on Saturday (22 Jun).
They said these actions must be carried out without causing further damage to the natural environment.
