Heesen Yachts has delivered its latest creation, the 55-metre steel superyacht YN 20655, now named Solemates, to a seasoned and returning client on April 30, 2025.
Built on Heesen’s time-tested 55m Steel platform, the yacht exemplifies the shipyard’s strategy of combining the advantages of a speculative build—which shortens delivery times—with the flexibility for significant customisation, making it a truly bespoke creation.
Solemates leverages the renowned Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects, wrapped in the sleek exterior styling by Omega Architects.

With a gross tonnage of 760 GT, her steel hull ensures efficient, long-range cruising comfort, while sea trials in the North Sea validated the yacht’s exceptional performance and build integrity. Her design and construction reflect not only technical excellence but also a deep understanding of lifestyle-driven yachting.
The interior of Solemates was the result of a close, collaborative effort between the owner’s expert team, Luca Dini Design and Architecture, and Heesen’s in-house craftsmen.

Designer Silvia Margutti helped bring to life an interior that feels entirely bespoke despite being built on an established platform.
The yacht is filled with unique touches—from a striking atrium that serves as a visual centerpiece, to an enlarged sundeck jacuzzi ideal for entertaining, and a reimagined main staircase featuring acrylic panels embedded with gold flakes and crystals.
A vibrant, modern color palette enhances the luxurious atmosphere onboard, reinforcing Solemates’ status as a distinctive one-off within a proven series.

Rupert Connor of Luxury Yacht Group, which is handling select charter availability for Solemates, praised the yacht as an evolved and improved iteration of a successful design.
Heesen Project Manager Ralf Oortman credited the smooth project execution to the owner’s experienced team, whose detailed understanding of the client’s preferences led to efficient and high-impact decisions throughout the build.
Set to make her official debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2025, Solemates is not only a testament to Heesen’s adaptable build philosophy and Dutch craftsmanship but also a statement of confidence by a repeat owner in the shipyard’s capability to deliver excellence.
As CEO Niels Vaessen noted, Solemates embodies the perfect blend of efficiency, innovation, and personalisation, promising many unforgettable voyages for her owner and exclusive charter guests alike.
