Against the breathtaking backdrop of Venice, the Mangusta Oceano 39 stole the spotlight at the 20th BOAT International World Superyacht Awards, taking home top honors in the Displacement Motor Yachts – 499GT and below, 35 to 39.9m category.

Held on May 3, this prestigious event recognizes the world’s finest luxury yachts for their design, engineering, and craftsmanship — and this year, Mangusta’s long-range cruiser stood out among the elite.

Built in Viareggio and introduced at last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, the Mangusta Oceano 39 marks the entry point of the brand’s Oceano series and encapsulates Mangusta’s evolution from high-speed yachts to refined long-distance cruisers.

At 39.2 meters in length with a beam of 8.5 meters and a gross tonnage of 324 GT, she offers the perfect balance of size, style, and performance. The yacht is powered by twin MTU 12V 2000 M86 engines, enabling a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 2,250 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 12 knots.

Designed in collaboration with Alberto Mancini, the Oceano 39 is a visual stunner. Sleek lines, expansive glass surfaces, and a minimalist design language create a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces.

This sense of openness is reinforced by floor-to-ceiling windows, an 85-square-metre glass-encased flybridge, a stylish beach club with fold-down terraces, and a dramatic infinity pool at the bow — which filters light into the owner’s suite below via its partially transparent floor.

Accommodating up to 12 guests in five luxurious cabins, along with a seven-person crew, the yacht is designed for maximum comfort and seamless living at sea. The interior decor flows with harmony, with materials like teak used across ceilings and decks to unify spaces and elevate the onboard ambiance.

Judges from the awards praised Mangusta for its successful transition from fast boats to sophisticated cruisers, noting the Oceano 39’s exceptional build quality, layout, volume, and value.

The judges were especially impressed with the consistency in design and material choices, as well as the yacht’s ability to bring the outside in, thanks to its extensive use of operable glazing and thoughtfully connected spaces.

Celebrating both an industry accolade and its 40th anniversary this year, Mangusta has solidified its place among the elite builders of displacement yachts with the Oceano 39 — a model that masterfully blends performance, elegance, and immersive luxury.
