The Italian Sea Group has announced that the 47-meter Perini Navi Art Explorer has won Multihull of the Year at the prestigious Boat International Design & Innovation Awards 2025.

The award, which recognizes excellence in yacht architecture, style, and technological innovation, was presented on February 2nd in Kitzbühel during the Superyacht Design Festival.

Giovanni Costantino, Founder & CEO of The Italian Sea Group, expressed pride in the achievement, emphasizing that Art Explorer represents a groundbreaking fusion of design and sustainability in the large sailing yacht segment.

Designed by Axel De Beaufort and Guillaume Verdier, this 47-meter aluminum sailing catamaran is the largest of its kind, featuring a 17.3-meter beam and a towering 55-meter carbon mast.

Beyond its impressive scale, Art Explorer is a floating museum set to embark on a two-year global journey, offering immersive artistic experiences while promoting environmental sustainability.

The yacht is equipped with 65 square meters of solar panels, capable of generating up to 12 kW instantaneously and over 200 kW daily. A lithium battery bank enables zero-emission power generation for more than six hours, even under full onboard load.

Certified with a green class notation, the catamaran features catalytic filters to minimize emissions and can operate in full-electric mode while maneuvering in ports and protected areas. Its advanced automated sailing system allows it to maintain speeds of 10 knots even in light wind conditions, with operations manageable by a single person.
