He extended gratitude to MarineMax and Northrop & Johnson for introducing the client, as well as to MCM for their exceptional project coordination.
Engineered for versatility, Santosha excelled during North Sea trials, demonstrating a quiet, stable, and high-performance experience. Captain Bob van Zundert remarked on her smooth handling, attributing her agility to the twin IMO Tier III-compliant MTU 16V 4000 M65L engines.
Paired with an efficient hull, Santosha reaches an impressive 22 knots, a testament to Heesen’s engineering expertise given her 510-tonne displacement.
Peter Wilson of MCM, the owner’s representative, praised Santosha as a fast, all-aluminium yacht with both speed and hydrodynamic efficiency. Her shallow draft offers exceptional range at lower speeds and flexibility across various cruising environments.
He added that the owner’s design insights greatly influenced Santosha’s success, underscoring the collaborative effort that brought the yacht to fruition.
Santosha represents a milestone in Heesen’s lineup as the first in a new class of 57-meter aluminium yachts, featuring a lightweight, ultra-efficient Fast Displacement Hull and approximately 780 GT of interior volume. Heesen’s Head of Engineering, Peter van der Zanden, emphasized that precise weight calculations were essential to achieving her shallow draft for cruising the Bahamas.
With six luxurious staterooms accommodating up to twelve guests, including a 63 sqm owner’s apartment, Santosha combines elegant design with generous outdoor spaces, ensuring an immersive and stylish life at sea. She is set to make her official debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March 2025.
