Horizon Yachts wrapped up a triumphant appearance at the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), where they exhibited an impressive array of luxury yachts and secured a notable sale, with another deal nearly finalized.
Positioned at Pier G, Horizon’s display showcased yachts worth over AUD$150 million, attracting a sophisticated crowd of returning clients and interested newcomers, eager to experience the distinctive Horizon offerings.
Mark Western, Horizon Yacht Australia’s Director, expressed his satisfaction with the event, which ran from May 23–26, 2024. “This year’s SCIBS hit all the right notes for us,” he said. “We are thrilled to announce the sale of an FD80 during the exhibition, and negotiations for an FD90 are nearing completion.

Horizon Yachts continues to see robust sales in Australia, thanks to our diverse range of yachts and commitment to satisfying various boating interests in the region.”
The Australian-tailored FD90 drew significant attention, with a sale in progress. Initially introduced at the 2024 Horizon Open House in March, the FD90 impressed SCIBS attendees with its modern design featuring light gray oak cabinetry and warm golden accents, inspired by the Japanese Wabi Sabi aesthetic.
This luxurious yacht offers a full-beam master stateroom and four spacious guest rooms, along with an expansive full-beam skylounge perfect for entertainment. Twin MTU 1,600hp engines and upgraded VF1950 stabilizers ensure a smooth and comfortable cruising experience.
Highlighting the appeal of Horizon’s fast-cruising series, an in-stock FD80, designed by the acclaimed Cor D. Rover, was sold during the show. This yacht blends style and space with superyacht amenities, characterized by fluid shapes and curves.
Its interior, accented by Australian firm ABI Interiors, features a minimalist design, while the high-volume four-stateroom layout and spacious deck areas enhance leisurely enjoyment.
A standout at SCIBS was the first FD80 to achieve AMSA 2C certification. Debuting at the 2024 Horizon Open House, this twelfth build in the series allows owners to purchase a charter-ready vessel. Its interior exudes a serene, natural light-filled ambiance, highlighted by dark koto wood. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glass sections on the main deck and four well-appointed staterooms provide ample accommodation for up to eight guests. For bridge cruising enthusiasts, the FD80 includes a hydraulic folding radar mast and a ceiling capable of accommodating a one-ton helicopter landing.
The V74, another Australian-customized design, made a notable return to SCIBS. Known for its plumb bow design and bold exterior profile by Stimson Yachts, the V74 features an enclosed skylounge and a voluminous four-stateroom layout, offering superyacht-like amenities for owner/operators. This perennial favorite attracted a large number of visitors during the exhibition.
Horizon Yachts also reported progress on the construction of the Cor D. Rover-designed E88 Sport Yacht, the fifth such order by an experienced Australian owner. SCIBS provided an ideal setting for the Horizon R&D team from headquarters to update and discuss construction details with the owner.
All Horizon yachts showcased at SCIBS are available for immediate delivery at Sanctuary Cove. Horizon Yachts invites you to their dazzling showcase at the Sydney International Boat Show from August 1–4, 2024.
