The event, which took place from August 1 to 4 at Sydney’s scenic Darling Harbour, was a grand showcase of superyachts, boats, and cutting-edge marine technology, drawing in nearly 42,000 visitors. The marina buzzed with increased activity, especially during the bright, sunny weekend, as attendees flocked to see the impressive array of vessels on display.

The FD80’s interior offers a seamless blend of elegance and practicality, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere through its clever use of space and natural materials. With floor-to-ceiling windows, ample areas for socializing, dark koto wood accents, and rich textures, the yacht’s layout speaks volumes. It comfortably accommodates up to eight guests in four cabins, including a full-beam master en suite, and features a versatile skylounge configuration with a heated Jacuzzi and a dedicated bar. The yacht’s design also boasts a hydraulic folding radar mast and provisions for a one-ton helicopter landing pad, underscoring its versatility and appeal.

In addition to the FD80 on display, Horizon Yachts attracted significant interest across various segments at the show:

Custom Build Expertise: The company received numerous inquiries regarding its ability to custom-build AMSA 2C certified yachts, providing clients with the option to acquire a vessel ready for charter.

Brokerage Success: The event also generated an offer on a brokerage vessel, with negotiations currently in progress.

FD80 and FD90 Leads: Horizon secured a substantial number of leads for both the FD80 and the larger FD90 models. Secondary inspections for these builds are already scheduled to take place at Horizon Australia’s headquarters.

Mark Western, Director of Horizon Yacht Australia, expressed his satisfaction with the results of this year’s show. “We’re thrilled with the outcome,” he said. “The FD80 truly turned heads with its stunning design and craftsmanship. The overwhelming interest in our custom build and brokerage options is a testament to the appeal of the FD Series. The volume-to-length ratio is particularly attractive to our Australian clients, offering a perfect balance that’s ideal for charter, crewing, and securing a berth.”
