Lürssen and Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG are strengthening their collaboration on yacht refits, aiming to enhance service for yacht owners.
The two companies have signed a framework agreement that formalizes and streamlines their cooperation on overhauling mtu propulsion systems, which are commonly used in many of the world’s largest yachts, including those built by Lürssen.
Lürssen, renowned for constructing superyachts up to 200 meters, also specializes in comprehensive refit services, including overhauls, modernizations, and interior conversions tailored to new owners’ preferences.

These refits provide an opportunity to upgrade propulsion systems with sustainable technologies, aligning with the push for greener operations.
The agreement builds on a long-standing partnership between Rolls-Royce technicians and Lürssen Yacht Refit & Services, covering the overhaul of mtu propulsion systems and NautIQ ship automation systems.
It redefines their working processes, making them faster and more efficient by setting common standards, reducing overhaul time, and improving spare parts availability. Additionally, Lürssen technicians will receive specialized training to meet Rolls-Royce’s standards for mtu engine work, ensuring quicker turnarounds for refit projects and faster delivery of yachts back to their owners.
