In 2012, a devastating fire broke out at Sunreef Yachts’ shipyard in Gdansk, Poland, destroying four custom catamarans under construction.
Founder and CEO Francis Lapp received the shocking news while in Turkey, with some suggesting it might be time to shut down. However, Lapp chose to rebuild from scratch, thanks to the unwavering support of loyal customers.

A year later, he launched the world’s first carbon superyacht catamaran and earned the Entrepreneur of the Year award at the World Yachts Trophies in Cannes.
To strengthen customer relationships, Lapp created the Yacht Forum by Sunreef, offering a platform for clients to share feedback. One standout project from this collaboration is the 2022 Sunreef 60 ALANDI, a cutting-edge 60-foot sailing catamaran built for its owner, Andreas, who praised Sunreef as unrivaled.
ALANDI has been seen cruising the Italian coast, offering luxury and transoceanic capability, with space for six guests and crew. Her elegant interiors feature teak and natural materials, while the exterior boasts alfresco dining and lounging spaces, ideal for both relaxation and adventure.
