The Verve 48 earned praise from the Robb Report US jury, comprised of seasoned journalists, for its triple 600hp Mercury outboard engines and striking exterior design, deeming it the best dayboat in its class. The project, envisioned by designer Francesco Struglia, blends the exhilaration of high-speed cruising with the serene pleasure of anchoring in harmony with the sea.
The Verve 48, a sport-weekender, represents an innovative development in yacht design by Azimut in collaboration with Struglia. Its redesigned stern area is larger and includes two integrated ladders for easy water access, while the extensive swim platform on the left creates a vast, seamless area close to the water. This configuration enhances the connection to the sea, providing an unparalleled on-water experience.
Powered by three 600hp Mercury V12 engines, the Verve 48 boasts a top speed of 50 knots, combining powerful performance with increased fuel efficiency, reducing consumption by 15%. Noise levels are also notably lower, reduced by up to 10 decibels compared to the previous model, the Verve 47, making for a quieter, more pleasant experience from the moment you step on board. The cockpit layout is versatile, designed for both spirited and relaxed experiences, thanks to optimized geometries and space utilization.
A standout feature of the Verve 48 is its new hardtop, which has a sleek, enveloping shape and can be equipped with a tempered glass insert. This addition not only lightens the structure but also allows light and air to flow in during stops at anchor, enhancing the onboard ambiance.
Complementing the Verve 48 in Azimut’s lineup of sport weekenders with outboard engines is the Verve 42, a 13-meter yacht that encapsulates the qualities of its larger sibling in a more compact form. Targeted at a younger, sophisticated audience, the Verve 42 features the Stepped ‘V’ Ventilated Tunnel (SVVT) hull, which reduces water resistance and improves performance. The interior and exterior designs, also by Francesco Struglia, emphasize functionality and emotion, drawing inspiration from the transparent designs of 1970s Italian sports cars.
Sporty and glamorous, the Verve 42 can accommodate up to 12 people during the day, offering well-organized and comfortable spaces. Equipped with three Mercury outboard engines, this model reaches a top speed of 45 knots and has a range of 200 nautical miles, making it a versatile and attractive option for those seeking a high-performance, stylish dayboat.
