Akalin, from Turkey, has just unveiled a new concept that he claims could be the first “fuel-free super yacht” of its size.
Named ‘Silenzio,’ the fully electric explorer has already attracted buyers and will be built by an Italian brand if the concept is sold, as reported by Luxury Boat News.
Akalin’s eponymous studio collaborated with Reanimer Yacht Works on the design of the boat.
It comes with a steel displacement hull and lightweight aluminium superstructure, giving it a weight of 2.380 tons.
The model also has up to four main generators producing 5.4mwh on board for propulsion and onboard operations.
Propulsion is provided by two 1800 KW permanent magnet thrusters running on well supported drive technology with a cruising speed of 14 to 16 knots and a top speed of 17 to 19 knots.
The vessel also has reverse osmosis water makers and pure water filtration systems capable of providing pure water on any length of voyage.
The boat can also house 12 guests with its six cabins, with an ensuite and master deck – everything you expect with a mega yacht.
The vessel has a crew mess, and can accommodate up to 16 staff and helicopters.
It also features a sprawling main salon, a large galley, a fitness room, a sauna, and an owner’s salon, which can be seen in the design images.
The exterior decks offer more amenities.
One end is home to a Jacuzzi, a bar, an alfresco dining table, and a sunbathing area.
While the other has another Jacuzzi and folding balconies.
In addition, a large garage can hold a tender, submarine, jet skis, and other water toys.
All of which are fully electric with an infinite supply of electricity being produced onboard.
Due to no Fossil Fuel Tanks onboard there is also much more storage space below.
Silenzio is part of a new series Akalin Yacht Design is working on with Reanimer Yacht Works.
A 197 ft catamaran is also in the works.
Stay tuned.
